정동혁 경기도 의원, "단체장의 책무는 소통과 협치"

정동혁 의원은 경기도 고양시 3선거구 화정1동,2동을 지역구로 의정 활동을 하고 있는 가운데 현재 고양특례시 시청 건립을 두고 현 시장이 시의회와 시민들을 무시하는 불통 행보를 지적했다.

초선 의원으로 정동혁 의원은 당선 이후 길지 않은 시간에 김동연 도지사의 의정 활동을 통해 단체장 책무의 중요성에 대해 가장 크게 배웠다고 말했다.

고양시의회와 많은 소통을 통해 시정을 운영해야 시민들의 불만을 줄일 수 있으며 좋은 정책이 나올 수 있다고 강조했다. 

정동혁 의원은 "고양특례시의 시장의 책무에는 일산과 덕양구의 균형발전이 필수적이다"라며, "십 수년간 시의회와 주민들이 준비해서 만든 결과를 손바닥 뒤집듯 바꾸고 소통의 부재까지 이어지면서 더욱 지역 불균형을 초래하고 있다"라고 주장했다. 

또한 고양시청 신청사 건립에 대해 원당 지역의 문제로만 알고 있는 덕양구 타 지역의 주민들에 대해서도 "고양시청의 일산 이전은 덕양구 지역 발전을 위해 준비 된 사안들은 백지화 되거나 늦어지게 되고, 당장 쓰레기 소각장이 설치되는 것으로도 덕양구 발전은 물론 당장 내 삶에 있어 큰 타격을 가져온다"라고 강조했다. 

정동혁 의원을 포함한 고양특례시 의원들과 시민들은 이동환 시장이 신청사 이전에 대한 철회를 받아들일때까지 계속해서 소통을 시도할 것이라고 전했다.
